FAQ

How long will a power station run my appliance?

Runtime ≈ battery capacity (Wh) × 0.85 ÷ average watts. The 0.85 allows for inverter and conversion losses. For appliances that cycle, like refrigerators, use the average draw (about a third of running watts), not the running watts.

What size generator do I need?

Add up the running watts of everything you want to run at once, then add the highest starting watts of any single motor appliance. The generator's starting (peak) rating must cover that total, and its running rating must cover the running total.

Why does my fridge trip my power station?

Compressors need a short surge of several times their running watts to start. If the station's surge rating is lower than everything running plus that surge, it shuts off. Choose a station with more surge capacity or run fewer things at once.

Note: These are estimates. Real consumption depends on the exact model, its age, settings, room temperature and how you use it. For your exact number, check the appliance's label or measure it with a plug-in energy meter. Rates are August 2026 state averages from the EIA; check your bill for your actual rate. When powering appliances from a generator or power station, never exceed its rated output and follow the manufacturer's safety instructions.
